#comunicambio Working papers

Dear authors and attendees of the International Congress on Communication, Civil Society and Social Change #comunicambio 2015,

We are pleased to share the proposals that have been accepted for the congress and that will be discussed in the afternoon panels on May 20th and 21st. These papers have been peer reviewed and accepted by the scientific committee, external reviewers and topic track coordinators according to several criteria such as the relevance for the congress main goals and the relation with each topic track, among others.

In order to foster debate and to know the different topics proposed before the congress, we now share the abstracts as beta version of working papers under a Creative Commons license. In this stage, we share only abstracts so that this would not be detrimental for a possible publication in indexed journals later on.

After the congress, as soon as possible, we will publish the book of conference proceedings (digital book with ISBN) backed up by all the groups that have collaborated in this research activity.

On the other hand, all the authors of papers that, after this reviewing process, have complied with high quality and relevance standards will be contacted to encourage them to present an extended version –adapted to the criteria of each call for papers and which will also have to undertake the specific reviewing process– to some special issues of journals, either published from the congress organizers (as mentioned on the website) or co-edited by members of the scientific committee who are related to the topics of the congress. If an author accepts to participate in this submissions, in the book of conference proceedings we will only include the abstract in order not to affect the process of original submissions established by some journals.

As you know, the congress is designed to discuss and debate, rather than to present. In this regard, we wish you a pleasant reading of these abstracts and we encourage anyone interested in a particular proposal to contact the corresponding author(s) to access the full content and establish a debate prior to the congress (in the “Biography” section of the abstract you can find the author’s e-mail).

Thank you for your support and we look forward to meeting you in Castellón to discuss together on communication, civil society and social change. People who cannot attend the congress in person will have the possibility to follow the event on the Internet (on our Twitter @comunicambio15 we will share the links to follow the streaming online) and participate in the debate online with the hashtag #comunicambio on Twitter.

Kind regards,

#comunicambio Committee
